Call from the Pearly Gates

All the Halloween happenings have reminded me of a story.
I went to visit a friend who'd recently been in the hospital. When he got the mail there were several sympathy cards there. Its seems that it had gone around that he had died in the hospital!
My friend has an awesome sense of humor and decided to call the people who had sent cards. He was on speaker phone so I could listen in.
Each person's first question was "Where are you"?
He would answer, "I'm at the Pearly Gates with St. Peter. We're allowed one phone call before we go in, and I wanted it to be to you".
We did this about 5 times and it never got old! LOL
When his wife got home she took one look at us and asked, "What did you do"? We were still sitting at the table with bits of lunch around us. She accused us of looking too happy!
I'm not much into Halloween, but remembering those calls still makes me laugh.
